Position Summary

Based out of Mississauga, the Intern, Development contributes to Crombie’s national development strategy by supporting research, analysis, and project coordination initiatives across the portfolio. Additional duties of the Intern, Development include but are not limited to:

  • Conducts research on market trends, comparable developments, rents, sales pricing, and construction cost benchmarks.
  • Supports due diligence for potential development opportunities, including reviewing and summarizing feasibility studies, planning materials, and background documentation.
  • Reviews zoning regulations, municipal planning documents, and site-specific requirements to support feasibility assessments and active development projects.
  • Prepares internal memos, presentations, trackers, and other project documentation.
  • Maintains project files, development trackers, cash flow inputs, and internal databases.
  • Assist in tracking project milestones, approvals, and project timelines.
  • Supports the preparation of municipal approval submissions (e.g., Minor Variances, Consents, permits, etc.).
  • Coordinates and track third-party consultant deliverables, including planning, market, civil engineering, traffic, and other technical reports.
  • Facilitates communication between internal teams and external consultants as directed.
  • Supports coordination with leasing, asset management, construction, and other internal teams to ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Participates in team meetings, project discussions, and site visits where applicable. Support special projects and initiatives as assigned.
  • Engages across all levels of the organization to create and promote a safe and respectful work environment.
  • Other special projects and tasks as assigned.

The profile we are looking for

  • Currently enrolled in a post‑secondary program in Real Estate, Urban Planning, Geography, or a closely related field.
  • Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to interpret planning and market information and summarize key insights.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; comfort working with data, trackers, and written analysis.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Candidates enrolled in a co-op program will be considered a strong asset.

Compensation:
The expected hourly rate for this role is $19–$24 per hour, based on location and relevant experience.
