Position Summary

Based out of Halifax, NS, the Intern, Legal supports governance and compliance initiatives by assisting with record management, Board documentation organization, and administrative governance processes to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and alignment with corporate policies and regulatory requirements. Additional duties of the Intern, Legal include but are not limited to:

  • Provide support on governance and compliance initiatives led by the SVP, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary.
  • Assist with records management initiatives, including reviewing, organizing, and consolidating historical Board records across various storage locations.
  • Help improve documentation structure and retention practices to support strong corporate governance standards.
  • Provide administrative support related to Board governance processes, including policy review tracking and scheduling.
  • Assist in supporting Board work plan development and related materials preparation.
  • Maintains accurate and organized corporate records to ensure compliance and audit readiness.
  • Engages across all levels of the organization to create and promote a safe and respectful work environment.
  • Other special projects and tasks as assigned.

The profile we are looking for

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program with a focus on Law, Paralegal, and/or related area, in the final year with a work-integrated learning component (5-6 weeks).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
