Crombie recently redeveloped a portion of the site into approximately 41,000 square feet of commercial space (Penhorn Annex) that fronts onto Portland Street and is integrated with the adjacent Penhorn Plaza, a Crombie-owned 104,000 square foot Sobeys-anchored retail plaza.
The site is on an active transportation network with a trail next to the Circumferential Highway connecting Penhorn Lake to Portland Street. Proposed features would include a multi-use greenway through the site connecting Penhorn Lake and Brownlow Park, a central public park approximately 2,636 square meters in size, ground floor commercial spaces, new streets and municipal services, additional park space, and a new surface parking lot for users of Brownlow Park.
