Position Summary
Reporting to the Director, People & Culture, you will contribute to Crombie’s success by acting as a strategic business partner and leader with accountability for the development and delivery of recruitment, development, and employee engagement programs to support Crombie’s culture and organizational strategy and to deliver the right person, at the right time, at the right place.
Key Accountabilities
- Provides coordination and oversight to advance talent strategies and plans to support current and emerging practices in areas of recruitment and retention, career development, employee engagement, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Leads the planning and delivery of recruitment activities, staying abreast of developments in the labour market, recruitment best practices, development in the retail real estate and REIT sector, and developments with performance comparators.
- Develops and maintains proactive and ongoing relationships with secondary, post-secondary, and community-based institutions and organizations.
- Coordinates and contributes to the development of onboarding, workforce planning, and succession planning programs.
- Conveys Crombie’s employee value proposition (EVP), ensuring it is known and understood by potential future candidates, current candidates, and employees; develops strategies to ensure its ongoing reinforcement.
- Leads employee engagement initiatives (i.e., preparation and administration of survey, summary and detailed reporting, dissemination of results, and implementation of related initiatives).
- Sets and monitors general administration and expenses budget.
- Proactively supports and provides recommendations to resolve employee-related issues; works across teams to resolve employee conduct and performance issues.
- Ensures corporate compliance with appropriate (e.g., regional, provincial, federal) employment laws and regulations.
- Provides leadership to national and regional teams to ensure alignment on roles and responsibilities, performance, and development.
- Prepares and delivers training content and programs and related reporting.
- In collaboration with broader People and Culture team, provides leadership and support in developing the talent strategy and annual initiatives to support business growth.
- Leads or supports change management activities.
- Proactively supports the ongoing use and leveraging of Crombie’s HRIS system (Oracle) and other technology (e. g., Yardi, Office 365 tools) to enable leveraging of systems across the organization.
- Prepares Board materials as required.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.
- Engages across all levels of the organization to create and promote a safe and respectful work environment.
The Profile We Are Looking For
As the ideal candidate, you have a solid background in full-cycle recruitment and hiring. You will come to the role with an understanding of and practical skills in workforce planning and employee engagement surveys, metrics, and drivers. You can efficiently use Office 365 products and have solid writing ability. You have the ability and desire to prepare and deliver engaging training material. Finally, you are committed to staying current with industry practices.
